The Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service was established in 1999 to supply services which were an alternative to hospital admission and statutory provision for people in acute mental health crisis. In 2006, the organisation won a prestigious national award - the Guardian Public Services Award for Customer Service, in the Innovation and Progress category. This was recognition of the organisation's work as a dynamic, creative and effective alternative to mainstream services.
